What will I find when I
visit First Baptist?
When you come in the front doors, you will be greeted
by Bob Shurr or Ron Sheets who will be glad to see you. They will
give you some information about the church and show you where things
are. If you have young children and would like nursery services they
will show you where the nursery is as well as classrooms, restrooms
and sanctuary. They will give you a bulletin that has information
about the morning service as well as things that are going on at First
Baptist.
What about Parking?
You can either park in
front of the church on SR 26 or in the parking lot on the west side of
the church. Watch the street as you cross! We have spaces reserved by
the sidewalk on the west side of the church for those who need the
shortest distance to walk. Call ahead of time (or from your car when
you arrive) if you would like wheelchair assistance or just a helping
hand getting in the building. 883-5079
What will the service
be like?
Our worship services
are informal and you may find folks dressed casually or wearing coats
and ties. All are welcome. In our song service, we may sing a blend
of traditional hymns and contemporary songs. The words are projected
in front of the church and are easy to read. If you don't know the
songs being sung, that's ok. Just enjoy the music and listen to the
messages. We are here to worship the Lord and sing to Him. Join in
as you are comfortable. There will be prayers and announcements of
what is going on as well as a message from God's Word. There are
Bibles in most pews if you didn't bring yours or simply ask an usher
to provide one. Since we are human, there will probably be some
mistakes made here and there, and hopefully, they will at least bring
a chuckle.
We welcome you and hope
you are drawn to the Lord. It is our prayer that you find a
connection to God during your visit.
Want to talk to
someone or have someone pray with you?
If you would like
someone to talk to you about what you have
seen or heard in the service, please ask an usher or just grab someone
by the hand. They'll be happy to talk with you and pray with you if
you desire. We are here not to build church program. We are here to
help each other as we follow Christ in our lives. We welcome you to
walk along this path with us.
What if I have a
physical impairment?
We understand the
difficulties physical impairments can provide and have taken some
steps to make it easier for you to come to church.
For those with hearing
problems, we have a system that uses a comfortable over-the-ear
headphone to amplify the PA system. You can use these headphones
without removing your hearing aid.
If you have difficulty
with stairs, we have chair-lift assist to help with getting from the
entrance to the sanctuary. Restrooms are upstairs and downstairs.
Call ahead of time (or
from your car when you arrive) if you would like wheelchair assistance
or just a helping hand getting in the building. 883-5079
How do I get to FBC?
We are 2 blocks west of the 4 way stop in Russiaville. Right on
State Road 26. Our next door neighbor is
Main Street
Christian Church.
